OPEN WORKSHOP...
Please contact me personally to design a custom tailored program for your specific needs. I offer a variety of approaches: 1. Demo approach. This is where I do most of the work and you would observe, take pictures, notes, etc. The amount of time you spend is up to you and the subject matter is yours to choose. 2. Hands on approach. This is where you do the entire work of building a chair of your choosing. You can bring your own wood or I will supply it. If you come from out of town I will assist you with accommodations and travel.

How to design and build a rocking chair . Hands on.
In this workshop you will do all work by yourself and take with you a completed rocking chair. This is a one-on-one approach and will be tailored to your level of experience. All aspects of designing the chair to every detail of building the chair will be covered. I will provide as much demonstration and guidance as is needed to make this as productive as possible.

Demonstration of building a rocking chair
In this workshop I will do all the work and explain the process in great detail. You will learn how to design and build a rocking chair without actually doing the work. Using this approach you will get all the information you need to go back to your shop and build a chair at your own pace using your own tools. Again, the approach is tailored to your needs and will last as long as you specify.

Bent wood lamination techniques
In this workshop you will learn the basic techniques of cutting laminations, building forms, gluing up and clamping. Also covered are tapered and double tapered laminations, design aspects and joinery issues. This is a hands on session that is tailored to your background and needs.
